How we breathe is how we live. Are you breathing deeply? Mindfully? With love?
It is an honor and my deepest passion to practice Reiki and to teach yoga. Yoga is love, yoga is healing; yoga is my life.
I believe we are all reflections of each other, and with every teaching experience I am blessed with greater knowledge of how to better serve this world.
Teaching, coupled with my personal practice, has taught me so much. I have learned that mindful breathing is the essential foundation for a sustainable and fruitful practice. That all body types create sacred shapes when focusing on alignment and conscious breath. That slowing down often builds more strength than speed ever could.
Most importantly I have learned that the ability to honor the exquisite beauty of our body’s ability to communicate exactly what it needs in any given moment is a powerful gift, and this gift requires deep awareness of how and why we breathe.
The continuous evolution of a yoga and meditation practice adds an increibly richness to this life. Like the brilliance of a sky awakening, and the warmth of the sun’s set; the red clay earth clinging to your sweat drenched skin on a most awesome adventure; the tears of pain and love; it is a purposeful thirst whose quenching is indescribably sweet; it is the awe of the endless cycle of life-death-rebirth.
I am a 200 hour RYT with Yoga Alliance. My love of nature and movement have been transformative tools during a variety of traumatic life events. Environmental consciousness led me to pursue an education at New College of Florida in 2005. I received my B.A. focused in environmental studies in 2009.
After a short career working with cancer patients and women with medical hair loss at 4Women.com from 2009-2010, I got married and had my son. After loosing my brother to lung cancer on February 13th, 2014, my life underwent a massive shift; thankfully yoga was there to catch me. I got divorced, and began the healing process.
These experiences have shaped me into the teacher I am today. I currently teach classes at Wild Ginger Apothecary: Studio + Lounge. I also have a home studio where I teach private clients, all here in Sarasota, Florida.
